Each April we participate in an annual spring clean-up as part of the Keep America Beautiful project. Throughout the year, however, several Civic members work hard at trying to keep New York Avenue, including the Children’s Park, free of litter. A job that never ends, we welcome all the help we can get.
We should all be involved in keeping Sound Beach clean. The groups that volunteer clean our public spaces, but it’s up to all of us to keep our properties free of litter.
When we work together, we accomplish more.
Kudos to the boys of Scout Troop 204 who joined a few members of the Sound Beach Civic to clean up the adopt-a-spot on New York Avenue. On Saturday, December, 10, 2022, what we thought would take hours was done in just a little over an hour because they came prepared to do the work. Many thanks also to troop leaders Jimmy Elder and John Galligan, who have expressed an interest to help keep this area clean and ready for future Civic events.
